Kuwait Towers

Kuwait Towers represents Kuwait City in the same way The Eiffel Tower represents Paris. This iconic landmark was first introduced to the public in 1979. by the Swedish engineering company VBB (Vattenbyggnadsbyrån), and the main contractor for their construction was Energoprojekt, a Yugoslav company.

Initially, the towers were designed to address Kuwait’s water storage needs while also serving as iconic landmarks in the cityscape. During the Gulf War, the towers were targeted and damaged during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, becoming enduring symbols of Kuwait’s ability to overcome adversity. From 2012 until 2016 the towers closed for renovations. Today the towers are equipped with restaurants and observation decks to make them attractive destinations for both locals and tourists. Price could be a little pricy, especially for those who are under a budget but it’s still a must-see attraction in Kuwait City.

Restaurants

The main tower houses a revolving restaurant called the Horizon Restaurant located in one of its spherical pods. This restaurant offers diners panoramic views of Kuwait City as they enjoy their meals.
